South Coast House, St.Brelade

COMPLETED 2024 // DESIGN AWARD 2022 - HIGHLY COMMENDED

Highly Commended in the Jersey Design Awards 2015 for Best Unbuilt Scheme, this striking cliff-side home in the west of the Island replaces two cottages and a dominating four-storey hotel with a series of intersecting pavilions, unified by a central hall that frames spectacular coastal views. Designed by Godel Architects and completed in 2019, the home blends modern design with natural beauty, featuring carefully selected materials, bespoke metalwork, and expansive glazing to merge interior and exterior spaces. The landscape, by award-winning Ian Kitson, enhances the contemporary feel, while sustainable features like ground source heat pumps, green roofs, and wildflower meadows support biodiversity and energy efficiency.
