Godel Architects were appointed to design a varied collection of homes in St Clement on the former Samares Coast Hotel site, creating a mix of houses and apartments arranged through careful use of the land. The houses face an internal green reminiscent of a traditional English village, while the apartments and townhouses are set to capture views over the beach. The architecture is bright and crisp, tying together different building types: eleven well-planned apartments with wide coastal views, including penthouses with striking outlooks; four vertical three-bedroom townhouses with sky lounges and two terraces; and fourteen simple, traditional four-bedroom terrace houses designed to support comfortable family living. As part of the planning requirement to include a piece of art or design, the scheme features an inlaid granite compass at the entrance, creating a distinctive marker for the development.
