La Lisiere, St. Brelade

COMPLETED 2021 // NEW BUILD DEVELOPMENT

This project involved the refurbishment, partial conversion, and extension of a substantial country house, improving its layout and expanding its accommodation. Internal alterations included a new feature timber staircase and reconfigured circulation to ease movement along the building’s linear wings. An annex outbuilding was converted to form a large guest wing built to contemporary thermal standards. Godel Architects also designed a new swimming pool suite, featuring an indoor pool within a vaulted hall and retractable glazed walls on both sides to open the space to the garden in summer and maximise natural light without glare. A granite and glass link, created in collaboration with architect and TV presenter George Clarke, connects the guest wing and pool suite, tying the ensemble together.
