Fairfield, St.Ouen

COMPLETED 2023 // NEW BUILD

Fairfield, St. Ouen is a three-bed dwelling built on the site of a former bungalow, set beside a regenerated orchard between interior agricultural land and the woodland edge of St Ouen Manor. Designed as a modest group of rural buildings, it sits comfortably in its landscaped setting while expressing strong sustainability aims. The layout maximises solar gain and daylight for renewable energy and a stable internal climate. Passive and active energy controls, including bespoke brise-soleil, adjustable blinds, awnings, solar-control glazing, ventilated rooflights, MVHR, and full LED lighting, work together to reduce energy use. Excess solar power is exported to the grid, and a battery system is planned to increase self-sufficiency and reduce reliance on mains electricity. Landscape and habitat enhancements across the garden, terraces, and orchard exceed the ecological goals for the project.
